The Meaning Behind Our Name
A Darchog is the central prayer flag from which strands of Lungta extend outward. Found across high mountain passes, monasteries, and Himalayan landscapes, it represents connection, guidance, and shared journeys. Those same values continue to shape the way we approach every experience we create.

Kiran
Founder | Guide & Trip Leader
I’m Kiran Tamang, founder of Darchog Adventures and a licensed trekking and climbing guide based in Kathmandu, Nepal. My journey into the mountains began through photography and filmmaking, documenting stories and landscapes that gradually became a lifelong passion for exploration and guiding.
Today, that experience shapes every journey we create at Darchog Adventures. Together with our team, we're committed to crafting thoughtful adventures built on genuine mountain experience, respect for local communities, and meaningful connections with the people and places that make the Himalayas extraordinary.

Ram
Lead Trek Assist
With years of traversing high mountain passes, Ram is the quiet anchor of the Darchog Adventures field team. Soft-spoken, patient, and cool-headed, his calm demeanor is a steadying presence when the trail gets demanding or emergency situations arise at altitude.
Behind his humble smile, however, lies true Herculean strength—he is humorously, and undisputed, the strongest member of our entire team. By the time your journey ends, you’ll leave deeply humbled by both the incredible power and gentle grace of the man who helped shape your journey.
Ganesh
Trek Assist
Ganesh brings an unbeatable energy to every journey. He is our team’s resident entertainer—always quick with a warm joke or a big smile to lift spirits right when those final kilometers of the day start feeling long.
When the bags are set down and the day's work is done, you’ll almost certainly find him lining up shots. An avid snooker fan, Ganesh loves spending his off-time playing pool—whether that’s a quick game on his phone during teahouse rests or racking up the tables at a pool house back down in the valleys.
Samir
Trek Assist
With a quiet smile and an easygoing nature, Samir is the understated powerhouse of our team. While he might seem a bit shy at first, it doesn't take long to find him caught up in goofy, lighthearted banter with Ganesh or Ram, bringing a genuine, easy warmth to the trail crew.
When it comes to the heavy lifting, Samir's capability at high altitude is second to none—his strength and stamina when hauling gear over 5,000-meter passes are nothing short of remarkable. And once the day's trekking is done, the bags are safely unloaded, and the sun sets over the peaks, he’s always ready to relax and never one to say no to a cold beer.
